Fares Please! 2026
Here are a few images taken during the event’s Saturday and Sunday days (it also runs to Monday). The use of the 1950s area is a new feature this year, and has given us an opportunity to spread the exhibits out a little, including the recreated ‘breakdown’ scene using the United vehicles adjacent to the Bowling Green. The newly erected ex Darlington Corporation bus shelter from Cockerton Green was open for use, and the heading photo shows it in the company of ex Darlington Corporation Corporation Guy Arab III No.26 (dating from 1952 and fitted with a Roe B41C centre-entrance body). It is part of the North East Bus Preservation Trust collection, who have owned it since 2019.
Below: I haven’t captioned the images – but anyone wanting to know more about each vehicle can Google the registration and this will usually turn up far more information than I can include here! The standout feature of these images is the weather – with some glorious sunshine adding to the positive mood.
