Sunshine and Quarry Hunslets…

With the Horses at Work weekend ahead, and all of our railways (including the wooden waggonway) in operation, Matt E and I spent the afternoon preparing Edward Sholto and Hugh Napier for the days ahead.  Both engines were prepped, cleaned and waxed, and as both were by now in steam, we took the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of our labours and carry out some shunting and general posing for photographs, the weather being fairly fine.  Here, then, are some photos from my phone, taken during a very pleasant afternoon of pottering…

Below: Railway photographer Dave Hewitt also popped along, and took altogether better photographs of us pretending we are at Penrhyn, which he has kindly shared here (more in the Gallery section under ‘Great North Festival of Transport 2015’ too).
