Steam Roller News Update May 14th

Fiddler passed its hydraulic test successfully on Tuesday. In the photo below, Joe Moore (Zurich’s boiler inspector) and Vincent Allen pump the water pressure up to 300psi (150% normal working pressure) for half an hour to prove the soundness of the boiler and new tubes. This was successfully accomplished and the steamtest is planned for next Thursday.
Below: A view of the front tubeplate. This angle is normally obscured by the front rolls and it vividly illustrates the difficulty of sweeping the tubes on a steam roller!
