Coffee Pot de-tanked…
As part of its ongoing winter maintenance works, Coffee Pot has had its water tank removed in order to gain access to the engine unit and mounting bolts onto the boiler. At the same time the spring settings will be checked and adjusted. The engine is also awaiting its cold examination from the boiler inspector. Once completed it will then be reassembled and then steam tested for the inspector. The photos show David and Chris overseeing the lift while I operate the forklift. Dave Youg made a lifting beam for placing the tank in situ in 2009, this proving very useful in reversing the process today!
There was a postcard on ebay recently (may still be there) of the Coffee Pot in years gone by in a bright blue paint scheme, was this authentic at all?
