A day out with No.18…

On what turned out to be the first really spring like day of 2015 (i.e. it was warm enough not to need a coat, there was no wind and there was heat in the sun!), we hosted a photo charter organised by Martin Creese – https://www.flickr.com/photos/martincreese/ and which starred No.18 – a much sought after occasion that has been in the planning stages for some years, but which hasn’t been possible until the locomotive has shown that it is reliable enough for such an activity.  The time has now come and we carried out some cosmetic work on the loco in the days preceding this, before commencing this morning under very promising weather conditions despite the forecast…

Here, then, are a few iPhone photos taken during the day – once more of a rather better professional nature appear online, I’ll post links to these.  Meanwhile, enjoy the first shoots of spring in the images below:

Below: Here are a few images edited on BeFunky.com – using various filters and layers – I know it will make professionals cringe, but I quite like it and they are images I would love to have found during 18’s restoration!
