Fares Please!
The Fares Please! event the weekend before last was a great success and operationally went very well indeed. Whilst the Monday weather deterred many, I’m sure, the overall offer of regular and ever-changing historical passenger carrying vehicles (bus and tram) was very attractive and pretty much obviated any chance of queues forming as there were so many vehicles able to help visitors move around the site! The model tramway exhibition worked well in the new venue (the Welfare Hall) and the Tramway itself received a birthday cake on the Saturday morning (see the museum’s social media pages for photos).
I’ve put a selection of photos showing most of the vehicle participants below, and it is fairly certain that we’ll look to repeating the event next year. We also have lots of contacts with vehicle owners who wish to take part in other events at the museum, as was the case during the Flag Weekend event last weekend when four visiting buses were added to the museum operation.
