Gas engine joy!

Gas engine joy!

28th March 2011

Maybe it was the relief at it running, or maybe the gas, but the Robinson gas engine has been running today for BBC filming (part of a feature in a forthcoming documentary on building the fish and chip shop at Beamish). Dave Young completed the overhaul last week and we had an unsuccessful trial run. However, with an emergency visit by Geoff Challinor from the Anson Engine Museum, all was put right and the engine swung into life this morning, shortly after chipping its first potato at Beamish!
Below: Dave Young at work – the engine and chipper have been trial fitted to one of the flat trolleys recently rebuilt by the Friends volunteers.
