Dave has been as busy as ever and sent through these two photographs of recent items completed in his workshop at home.

Below: These are the boiler bands for Lewin, complete with cast fittings, which Dave is rivetting to the bands themselves. Each little job like this takes the job forwards a little bit more and is very encouraging to see – meanwhile I am looking for the balance of funding for the project…

Below: Dave has also made chocks for the Steam Mule and Ram pump trolleys. The device enables the blocks to be placed, then the eccentric to the right to be turned, with a bar, to draw the blocks together and clamp them tight underneath the wheel, lifting it slightly and ensuring a positive lock for the trolley. Such items were marketed and used on steam portable engines, though I have never seen a full size set until now…
