Sir Berkeley steaming dates – cancelled
I thought it useful to readers that this update was posted, following on from the last post here. Sir Berkeley developed a fault on Monday which will require more thorough investigation, for which the sensible option to progress this is to return it home and allow those that know it well to explore. We’ve been thrilled with it’s visit and the impact the four steamings made, and the sheer number of photographs that appeared of it online, at the Wheels of Industry event. I hope we’ll see it at Beamish again in the future. Meanwhile, thoughts inevitably turn to our own Manning Wardle and the potential restoration of this in the next several years or so…
Hope ‘Sir B’ isn’t too ‘groggy’ & recovers before returning to Leeds. In the meantime, thanks for keeping everyone interested up to date. I don’t envy the trials & tribulations the Beamish ‘steam (and other methods of propulsion) team’ face every day!
Sir Berkley and Newcastle running together at Beamish in the future would be an interesting thought
