Another water cart...

Another water cart…

14th May 2009

Yet another water cart! This time one which is engine/tractor hauled. We’ve had this cart for some time, it being stored on top of one of the containers on site. It has been moved to Davy Sheen’s workshop in teh Regional Museum Store and quickly dismantled. As ever David Young is tackling some detail components, whilst Davy will repaint the tank and wheels. The wooden frame is fire damaged and has moved up to the Estates workshops for Shaun to build a replica. It is clearly not the original as the quality in no way matches that of the tank or castings.

The pictures below show the tank in one piece and dismantled. It will be outshopped in blue and red livery and used by the steam roller (and visiting engines) as an additional water supply. Hopefully this will be a relatively quick job…
