Phil Anderson has started to strip Blackpool 31 in anger now, both to prepare it for its temporary appearance in works green livery and for the full repaint thereafter. When repainted fully, it will wear a slightly different livery to that carried after 1988 (that carried between 1920 and 1924) and 1998 (a slightly amended version of the previous, with one or two anomalies). It will now carry the 1924 – 1928 scheme, which is broadly identical to the previous finish, though will have the correct lining shades and bulkhead colouring as well as carrying the fleet number in a roundel on the side of the decency panels.
