PftP Build up!!!
14th April 2010
Wow! What a busy day as we set up for the PftP event, which starts tomorrow…
Below: The horse drawn street sweep and steam roller Rambler were involved in a press call at 11am – here we see the sweep (brought in from Bradford Industrial Museum). This is a remarkably effective device and is great fun to watch!
Below: Rambler and the sweep, also the water cart – dampening down the dust before sweeping takes place.
Below: The Tarmac Sentinel S6, unloaded and posed in the colliery.
Below: And later joined by the 1920 Tarmac living van, newly restored at Beamish.
Below: Much excitement greeted the arrival of Cardiff 131 from Crich – seen here with Sheffield 254 – a never to be repeated shot?!
Below: Over the pit for a commissioning inspection, and alongside fellow visitor, Leeds 6 – so that’s two works trams…
Below: … and here is the third – Blackpool Engineering Tram No.4! The tram looks stunning and I will post pictures of it outside tomorrow!
Below: Another view of Blackpool 4 (aka Blackpooll 31). Unfortunately we haven’t yet been able to extract the Blackpool tower wagon, but will persist…
Below: After the museum closed, 131 made a number of test runs around Beamish. Seen here entering the loop at Pockerley.
Below: This view of 131 in the town.
Below: And the traditional view in front of the bank (when the lighting is so lovely – hoe the weather continues in this vein!).
Below: Meanwhile in the colliery Graham Morris arrived with the two Wrens…
Below: Wren 3114 after unloading onto our temporary construction railway.
Below: Peter Pan slumbers in the ‘Wren house’!
