3rd April 2010
Thursday saw yet more transport activity when the new passenger operation at Rowley was tested, successfully!
Below: No.6 raising steam behind the town – this is the best source of water for filling an engine, which to keep weight down is generally drained for the haulier.
Below: Coupled to the FRT’s GER saloon, vacuum brake test complete and No.6 draws forwards off the unloading spur.
Below: The pair in the station. Various adjustments were made to the coach’s brakes, though it performed exceptionally well given it has seen very little movement since 1972.
Below: The classic Beamish view!
Below: End of the day and No.6 sits at the signal before proceeding to the sheds.
