Alan is making good progress on the first chaldron waggon and is a popular visitor attraction as can be seen in the first photograph below!

Below: An elevated view of the chassis showing the two solebars and some of the cross members. The oak is treated in various ways, to both protect against rot but also fungi.

Below: Alan marking out a cross-member prior to drilling holes for the iron tie-bars which pull the wooden chassis together tight. These rods are all threaded and have required restoration in order to make them usable.
