Here is a quick roundup of activity on the transport/industry front. Tomorrow is a mega-day in terms of activity as we will be moving a rail-crane, large egg-ended boiler and the Seaham Harbour coal drops – watch this blog for a full report tomorrow!

Below: … for the reason that it is an original hydrant supply for steam lorries. Seen here awaiting blast cleaning. The box and base will be restored and used for traction engine water supplies at Beamish. THe WCWW is thought to stand for ‘West Cheshire Water Works’ unless anyone knows any different? Motor Wagon was a commonly used term for steam road vehicles, dating from when there were few internal combustion vehicles on the road.
