Boat progress…

Below: Dave the Busworks painter is making good progress on 233 and has done a huge amount of preparation over a couple of very long days. He is now applying the undercoat/primer to the cream areas (to become green).
Below: Meanwhile Peter Barlow is attending to base of the tower, applying fibreglass to create a waterproof seal and also to dress some otherwise rather untidy areas. Close up the Boat rather shows its age and work to re-seat the tower included new timber and some filler pieces. The curves are formed of a later addition to the platework, themselves covering the earlier (and original) metal components. The blending of these had become rather untidy and Peter’s work will address some of the cosmetic aspects of this as well as the issue of water ingress.
