The repaint (following overhaul) of the replica Daimler bus is complete and the bus made its first public debut in the new Northern colours this morning. It looks absolutely stunning and is a credit to Phil Anderson who carried out the work, right down to the wire and a tight deadline! Northern was formed in 1914 but had its roots in the extension bus services of the Gateshead Tramways. It would eventually grow to eclipse the tramway and become one of the regions key operators. It is hoped to attract sponsorship for the advertising panels on this bus, to generate useful revenue as well as add a further authentic touch to its appearance… Here are some views of it in the morning sunshine.
