PftP 2012 - Day 2

PftP 2012 – Day 2

A busier day than yesterday, probably thanks to better weather and with the event finding its stride.  Again I was a bit limited in photography time, so here I have borrowed a few from Beamish’s flickr pages (link at the end of this post as lots more images online!).

Below: Was it worth it?  I very much think it was looking at this photo of Gateshead 10 aka Grimsby & Immingham Electric Railway No.26…

Below: 196 has been test running in order to settle its re-machined bearings down.  One is still a bit warm so it is receiving attention to this.  Meanwhile it is on display whenever possible for photographers to make the most of…

Below: A few shots showing morning preparations at Rowley and a few other general scenes, including a rather lovely Fordson petrol tanker.

Below: The Hodbarrow side tipper in all of its very-nearly finished glory.  It is seen here upright and tipped.  It has found a useful role supporting (through supply of wood and coal) the operation of the Ruston Portable in the Colliery area, which will be on the stone crusher this weekend.

This is the link (below) to the Beamish flickr photostream where many hundreds of photos can be found in various catagories, including transport at Beamish and events in recent years.
