No.985 at Tanfield

No.985 looked rather at home at Tanfield this weekend, and is seen here shunting Marley Hill yard in these views taken earlier today.  The Tanfield put on a terrific event and it certainly seemed busy today, with lots happening and numerous photographic opportunities for both the enthusiast and general audience as well as some spirited shunting demonstrations featuring 985.

Below: A temporary two-foot gauge railway was in operation, featuring this Lister Rail-truck.  In the background is one of two visiting road steam engines, Aveling roller ‘Ayesha’.

Below: I couldn’t resist a couple more views of No.2 at work at Rowley Station – 79 years of age and yet still very modern and stylish in appearance.
