304 makes first test runs at Beamish…
Below: After much hard work by Brian, Hughie, Tom, Peter and David (from the LTT), commissioning and static testing, 304 ventured out onto the circuit tonight for its first test runs. Initial laps focused on its clearances on site, followed by brake and run back testing on Pockerley Bank. Darkness quickly overcame events which progressed until around 7:30 when 304 returned to the depot. Subject to a few small remedial jobs and further driver familiarisation (for those already versed in Vambac operation), 304 should enter service this weekend. Check back on the blog for latest news on this.
Love the night shot, making the most of the rain we’ve been having as well. Good job!
