As has been shown on this blog on numerous occasions before, I am a great fan of the Welsh narrow gauge railways, in particular the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland lines.  A few days away presented a chance for a ride on both lines, in some stunning (sometimes!) weather conditions…

As ever, here is a mix of engines at work on both lines in this spectacular part of the country.  Walking around the slopes of Moelwyn enabled some aspects of the long closed Croesor tramway to be viewed, with feeding tramways in some really quite improbable locations and cut into steep hillsides.
