More trade catalogues online – Motor Roller and Roadmaking themes…

There are now even more trade catalogues online – see the ‘downloads’ section.  Also added are various articles featuring Beamish and our thanks are gratefully expressed to those magazine’s editors for allowing us to include them on the site.

I shall try to update the blog with the various weeks goings on tomorrow, with progress on the workshops being the key focus of attention lately.

Blackpool Coronation No.304 has finished its operational spell with us, though on what proved to be its last day in service it disgraced itself by dropping the rearmost axle off the track as it entered the loop at Pockerley.  The tram was recovered and an investigation into the derailment is ongoing.  Next week it will be prepared for its return to Blackpool.

Gateshead 10/G&I 26 – this tram may now operate a little longer in BR green livery as the programme for winter maintenance across the Museum does not readily allow the tram to be overhauled and repainted in time for the 40th anniversary gala in April.  Our focus will be on the Gallopers and the B-Type bus, both of which will require attention and whose work is more urgently required in order to ensure they are ready for the start of the season.  As 10/26 is operational it therefore makes sense to leave it intact until the late spring/early summer.
