Weekend transport activities…

Yesterday (like today appears to be promising) was generally bright and sunny, or at least not raining!  A number of additional transport attractions were at work, including Guy Rutter’s Sentinel steam lorry, Anthony Coulls’ Wallis & Steevens pavement motor roller and for a few hours, Edward Sholto.  Unfortunately the latter was failed with injector problems early in the day, but remained on display whilst being liberally oiled ready for winter storage.  304 was in action and appeared to be very popular with enthusiasts.  Unfortunately a small dent and scrape was picked up in the course of operation but this will be repaired before it leaves Beamish.  Also shown below are the two skip wagons from the Abbey Light Railway.  These have now been purchased by Beamish and will be overhauled and repainted in due course.

There will be a number of ‘extras’ today, once they have been de-iced!
