B-Type Bus roof canvassing progresses…

Below: Tony and Matt set about re-canvassing the B-Type bus roof (which forms the upstairs floor, with wooden laths to protect the canvas) this morning.  With scaffolding towers erected at each side, they set about applying the canvas bedding compound to the roof.  The bus has not previously had a roof covering on it, relying on the tightness of the roof planks to seal it.  These have leaked quite badly in recent years so whilst the overhaul was underway, the opportunity to waterproof the saloon and cab was taken.

Below: Tony is tightening the canvas, tucking it under (to avoid a frayed edge) and then pinning it to the underside of the roof.
