GNFoT – ‘Old King Coal’ Day 3 – the sun shone!!!
The final weekend of our festival is in full swing, centred around community banner marching and celebrating the centenary of the peak year of coal production in County Durham. Tomorrow’s parade promises to be even longer, with a small transport paraded to mark the end of the festival. Then we have Jack, Peter Pan, Rocket, 1068, 730 and the Robey portable to load and despatch, catch our breath and start the planning for the next one!
Below: Here are a few views of the parade, taken from 1068 which paced the crowds for part of the route.
Below: Rocket (L&M) meets 179 (S&DR)…
Below: A few shots of Esme and Ralph – maybe next time they meet Esme will be in steam too…
Nice set of photo’s.
