News from the Transport & Industry Department – June 2013…

Below: Phil is well advanced on the B-Type bus’ repaint.  It is seen here with adverts trial fitted (Vaux have been a great supporter of the Museum over the years – yes we know this is a Sunderland brew on a Newcastle bus and yes, the wording is exactly as depicted on tramcars – it is not a mistake!).

Below: Brian’s infatuation (!) with worn clutches continues, having now dispatched the Daimler bus he has set about replacing the clutch on the Ford Thames van used by the Museum Attendants team.  It is seen here ready for its engine to be removed to access the errant (and awkwardly situated!) component.

Below: A mega-shunt in the depot as part of a tidy up and sort out saw Sunderland 16 draw Sheffield 264 out into daylight earlier. Joining them, under its own power, was trolleybus Newcastle 501, which enjoyed a few short sorties up and down the yard to prove that it does work!
