Seaham Harbour Open Day
The 22nd June saw a hugely popular open day at Seaham Harbour, featuring our own Coffee Pot No.17 and a chaldron waggon alongside a selection of vintage police cars, Stuart Ritchie’s Morris charabanc and a rare outdoor appearance by the George Elmy lifeboat, alongside the William Riley (from Whitby) which contrasted its oar power with the George Elmy’s motor power. Beamish also attended with games and toys. It was also a chance to meet up with some of the staff who worked on the docks, not least Jimmy Taylor who drove both No.17 and No.18 along with all of the other Seaham locomotives over the years.
