The weekend, in pictures…

We’ve had some great weather this weekend and lots happening around the place…

Below: With the Friends, we have jointly purchased five Raleigh bicycles for the Museum. These were restored by one individual with assistance from others, thus giving them a very nice consistency of finish. There are two gents cycles and three ladies. All are finished in lined black, complete with crests and accessories such as saddle bags, pumps and bells. Here are the two gents cycles:

Below: The three ladies cycles are seen here, the gents cycles to the left.

Below: A close up of one of the gents cycles.

Below: And a close up of one of the ladies cycles.

Below: One of the Raleigh transfers (this one being on a rear mudguard).

Below: In the workshops the Friends team are assembling the Adams Patent Car Elevator – seen here receiving a few gentle modifications!

Below: A couple of new acquisitions – in the background, Newcastle, in the foreground is a new horse currently being trialled, named Mick, seen here with horseman John Owens whilst collecting coal for a delivery to the town area.

Below: And finally, another view of Newcastle (in the sunshine!) with Lewin’s boiler peeking into the shot. I am waiting a date for moving this to Hetton to be placed in the frames.
