Highlights from the GNSF so far…

Below: Dave Young with the Steam Mule and water pump, all his own work. Also in this scene is the restored water cart (which Dave also had a hand in, along with Davy Sheen and myself) – this set up is the narrow gauge railway water supply, with Arthur Wakefield using his Scammell to haul the water cart to site, the steam Mule and adapted pump delivering it to the locomotives – all with vertical boiler power!

Below: Here are some views taken this morning showing the narrow gauge railway coming to life after a Herculean effort by Darren and Mark to complete it in time, and to a very high standard. The Baguley had the honour of hauling the first train, fellow Abbey Light Railway items in the form of two V skips. Paddy followed, then Chaloner and soon the railway was running in quite a busy manner!

Below: Dave Watchman demonstrates the velocipede – this thing is for the fit and strong!
