No.18 – revealed in the evening sunlight…
Today, as part of our event preparation, Coffee Pot No.1 was moved back to the Colliery. The tent inside the shed has been dismantled and as part of the various shunts the opportunity arose this evening to place No.18 outside in sunshine. This was the first time I’ve been able to stand back and look at it, and whilst the cab back sheet needs further painting, there is some lining to add and other bits of tidying plus cab glazing to fit, I think it looks rather nice. There are still various jobs, leaks and squeaks to complete and attend to before we can place 18 into service and consider it ‘finished’, but as can be seen it is very close now. Coffee Pot also makes an appearance here, as ever providing the vital motive power for the shunt.
What an absolute beauty – thank you very much both to yourself and all at Beamish and all others involved for the hard work in this, a real credit
Seconded. Fabulous job, and a lovely looking little engine!
