This morning ‘Rocket’ arrived at the Museum, and was promptly unloaded outside the Great Shed.  It is due to operate on Saturday and Sunday.  As the chaldron to which it will couple will need an enhanced buffer arrangement, Tony set about ‘whittling’ some suitable timber to create an adapter for both this occasion and future ones where RCH buffer height vehicles may need to be coupled to the Waggonway Train (including the Forcett Coach, which should arrive next week). Rocket has been to Beamish before, in 1980 as part of a filming assignment at Rowley Station.

Tomorrow marks the start of day 5 of the event, the first day of the Great North Steam Fair.  I’ll post images as and when, as ever.
