Day 4 of the GNFoT – Our Friends Electric…

Andy Martin kindly supplied some images that he took of yesterday’s fantastic tramcar parade.  The event had a wonderful atmosphere and to see the street full of trams was really something special and one that the staff and volunteers enjoyed as much as the photographers.  The impromptu night-shoot was a bonus, after some superb evening sunshine.  I particularly like the shot of 31 departing as last tram, with the last of the photographers aboard, leaving the street strangely quiet after it had left! I should like to thank the staff, volunteers and members of other tramway groups (including Birkenhead, Crich and Heaton Park) who helped us put on this show – not something we are likely to repeat, for a little while anyway!

So, that was yesterday, here are some photos taken this morning of the model tramway exhibition, so ably organised by Gordon Bulmer and including model trams in a variety of scales, from 4mm (1:76) to 3/4 inch to the foot (with a beautiful selection of Stockport trams).
