Here are a few photos that might be of interest.  Firstly, Samson, sporting its frame extensions and now with pretty much most of the metal cut, drilled and prepared to enable final assembly of the frames, footplate and bunkers.  I’ve also included a few shots of 60008 ‘Dwight D Eisenhower’ at the NRM (taken whilst attending a meeting) – this is one of the famous (infamous?) A4’s brought back from North America to celebrate the 75th anniversary of ‘Mallard’s record breaking run in 1938.  Following a repaint, No.8 looks very smart in BR lined green.  I reckon Samson would probably fit in an A4’s cab!
