With the weather forecast not entirely promising, we were pleasantly surprised today by the favourable weather and large crowds that turned out for the third day of the Great War Steam Fair. As before, here is a selection of photographs taken today…

I also particularly liked the soldier with motorbike, sidecar and dog!

I didn’t get to see the Austin up close, what is the year/model of it please? Looks identical to ones used by the Royal Naval Air Service during the Great War, I wasn’t aware of any surviving.
An amazing event, spent four days there and still didn’t see everything, also I’ve now starred on the blog eating my lunch!

I will be coming to beamish on the 16 april. I would like to see the CROSSLEY stationary engines that I understand are not yet on show. Would that be possible.My family made them !! Yours John Crossley
