Sheffield 264’s first day in service…
After over a decade out of passenger use, Sheffield 264 has returned to passenger service following the completion of its overhaul and stunning repaint.
The project has been extensively covered on this blog, so I won’t repeat the story, instead here are some photographs taken this morning with it as ‘fresh’ as it will ever be!
(Please excuse the poor exposures of these images – I have a camera too complicated for practical use now and have locked it into some setting that renders it all but useless for taking transport photographs!)
What a great tramcar. Well done to everyone who has had a hand in returning it to traffic. A reminder of an age when things were built to last, and people took a pride in what they did, and how it looked when finished. It is a credit to the folks at Beamish.
Amazing job, she looks absolutely stunning. I’d love to see her come down to Crich on a visit, to have a run with Sheffield 74 and 510.
looks fantastic. I made the molds for the curved windows. Job done.
