A few evenings ago, a particularly warm and glorious one at that, I took Rambler for an evening saunter around the site. This included a visit to virgin territory around the chip shop – and I am pleased to report to all engine operators at Beamish that an engine can comfortable be brought round almost to the end of what will be the queue!

These views are offered as a taster for the Great North Steam Fair – also note (via the main Beamish website) the photographic evening on Saturday the 16th from 5:30 to 8pm when various scenes around the Museum will be set up specifically for photographers. Tickets are selling fast!
