Welcome to the new-look blog!
Hello and welcome to the blog, now hosted on Word press and hopefully with much clearer access to a wider range of information relating to the transport collections at Beamish.
You will still find the usual regular postings under the latest news banner, but there will also be a growing online stocklist with photographs, articles and further links, accessible from this point. There is one section, on the tramway and tramcars, already loaded for you to view. Much of the information on this section comes from the Beamish Tramway Group, and there will be more added as we move forwards. I hope to add an item per week (roughly), so this is very much a work in progress!
I hope that you enjoy the new look and find that this site becomes a useful resource…
Below: A selection of images taken on Sunday’s Classic Car rally at the Museum. The Y7 has returned and this time faces west, to even out the flange wear evident on the driving wheels, in anticipation of tyre re-profiling on the locomotive and adjustments to the running line at Rowley.
Very much liking the new look on the blog, although the text size may be a little small for some users? Just a suggestion!
The tramway pages are very interesting, and I look forward to the same for other parts of the Museum’s collection.
Is there any more news on Coronation 304’s temporary move to the Museum?
Hi – glad you like the look of the new blog and we’ve taken on board your comments re the font. Some changes have been made but we can advise that if you hold the Ctrl key down and scroll up with the mouse wheel or press the + and – keys that will increase and decrease the size of the text on this site, or pretty much any website for that matter.
We hope this helps?
Looking good – will continue to follow with interest!
I’m sorry to say that although the general layout of the blog seems OK, I’m afraid it’s no use to me as the print is too small and I cannot read it.
I know not whether the fault lies in my tired old eyes or your settings but I don’t appear to suffer this small font anywhere else.
Regards
Tony Gallimore

Many thanks for your advice and the very useful tip.
