Tanfield Railway Gala 2015
This weekend saw the Tanfield Railway hold its steam gala – relocated to a new date earlier in the year in order to avoid clashes with other events in September. With Hunslet Austerity ‘Mech Navvies’ in the bag (returning to a county where it worked and was well photographed at Swallwell), the event organisers pulled off another ‘first’ with the confirmation that Tyne & Wear Museum’s Kitson A NO.5 would also attend. With three locos from the home fleet, it was set to be an impressive line up and by all accounts the event has been a great success. Here are a few photographs that I took today, but for more information on the event and the sheer hard work that was put in to organising it, see the railway’s blog:

I have by now learned that pulling out my camera will ensure that the sun goes in, so do have a look on the railway’s site as they also held a 30742 photo charter so there are bound to be some superb scenes appearing over the coming weeks…
