Good Friday – a busy start to the holiday…
The sun shone for Good Friday and the visitors turned out in large numbers. On the steam side, as well as Portbury at Rowley, the Steam Gallopers and Steam Waggonway, this 1908 7NHP Fowler Traction Engine, named Prosper Gem, was in action around the Museum.
Prosper Gem is an early arrival for the Great War Steam Fair and will be running throughout the April festival. It is accompanied by a Fowler traction trailer, the pair being seen here after the crowds had disappeared on Friday evening. They will be running throughout Easter weekend, then again for the GWSF, Horses at War (potentially on a saw bench) then Old King Coal. Other exhibits are arriving and being parked/stored ahead of the festival, whilst work in the RHEC continues on other exhibits that we hope to debut then, namely Sheffield tram No.264 and Samson. A news post will appear later over the weekend…
